OWENSBORO, Ky.— Drury tied for fourth place in a field of 15 teams at the Bill Crabtree Invitational hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan at 5,829-yard, par-72 Pearl Club in Owensboro, Kentucky on Monday.
The Panthers entered Monday's second round only one shot off the tournament lead, but Ferris State held off the field, shooting a 36-over-par 612 in the 36-hole tournament and won by six strokes over Maryville. Illinois Springfield slipped past Drury and McKendree to take third by one shot, posting a +46 622. The Panthers ended the tournament with a 47-over-par 623.
Drury had two golfers place in the top 10 in the 92-player field. After posting the team's best individual score of the season with a one-under-par 71 on Sunday,
Taryn Overstreet came in third in the tournament, finishing with a +3 147. The senior from Jackson, Missouri, posted a 76 in Monday's second round.
Abby Howard tied for ninth, coming in at 10-over-par with a 154. The senior from Liberty, Missouri, shot 75 on Sunday, then 79 in Monday's round.
Isabelle Thrall tied for 26
th (+15, 159),
Jade Carter tied for 39
th (+19, 163), and
Grace Stafford finished at 21-over-par (165) to tie for 45
th.
Jacie Pattengill posted a +31, 175, to tie for 65
th.
Lisa Marie Schumacher from Tiffin shot a four-over-under 68 on Monday and finished the tournament at -4 to take medalist honors by four shots.
This week's tournament was the final event of the fall for Drury women's golf. The team will resume their schedule next spring.
