SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury women's indoor track and field team is picked to finish third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference this season in the league's preseason coaches' poll.
Lewis is picked to win the conference after receiving 11 of the 14 first-place votes. Indianapolis is picked to be the runner-up, receiving two first-place votes. Drury is picked third and received a first-place vote. Southwest Baptist, Missouri S&T, and Truman State round out the top six.
This is the first time that the GLVC has released an indoor track and field preseason poll in conference history.
The Panthers received 135 points and one first-place vote to be picked third overall in the poll. Drury finished third at the GLVC Championships last season and return two conference champions in
Ashley Childers (200m dash), and
Luz Olivera (3000m run). Head Coach
Lee Wood enters his third season coaching the Panthers.
