FAYETTE, Iowa– Upper Iowa used a hot start to spark them to a 3-1 win over the Drury Panthers on Friday in Fayette, Iowa.
The Peacocks started the match by winning nine of the first 11 points on their way to taking the opening set 25-16. Upper Iowa took the second set 25-19, then the Panthers fought back to take the third, 25-18. Upper Iowa pulled away from Drury in the fourth set to close out the match, 25-19.
Upper Iowa's Zoe Semelroth led both teams with 22 kills and posted a .429 hitting percentage. Nicole Pozorski added 45 assists.
Juliana Squire led the Panthers with 14 kills and the senior added 15 digs.
Lauren Tyler had 37 assists, and
Kayli Duncan contributed 10 kills and six blocks.
The Peacocks went to 6-8 and 2-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Drury moved to 2-14 and 1-4 in the league.
The Panthers continue their road trip on Saturday with a 6 pm game at Truman State in Kirksville, Missouri.
