HOT SPRINGS, Ark.— The Drury Panthers finished sixth in a seven-team field at the Battle for the Belt, hosted by Henderson State at the par-72, 5,926-yard Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark., on Monday.
Drury had a team score of 318 and slipped two spots on the leaderboard to finish the 54-hole tournament with an 81-over-par 945. Sixth-ranked Henderson State won the tournament, finishing at 17-over-par and won by two shots over Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Taryn Overstreet led the Panthers and finished tied for 14
th, shooting a 15-over-par, 231. The senior from Jackson, Missouri, posted a 78 (+6) on Monday.
Isabelle Thrall had Drury's best round on Monday, shooting a +4, 76 to finish tied for 17
th with a +16, 232.
Grace Stafford came in tied for 27
th (+24, 240),
Reagan Martin tied for 29
th (+26, 242), and
Abby Howard finished 37
th (+35, 251).
Jade Carter, playing as an individual for the Panthers, tied for 29
th, shooting a +26, 242.
Allie Bianchi from Henderson State on individual medalist honors, finishing with a one-under-par 215 and winning the tournament by one stroke over two other players.
Drury returns to the links on Saturday when they travel to the Davenport Panther Invitational, Oct. 14-15, at the Stonehenge North Golf Course in Grand Rapids, Mich.
