Panthers take on Illinois Springfield in GLVC quarterfinals
Drury Women's Soccer will open the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Sunday against Illinois Springfield at Harrison Stadium at 12 pm.

The Panthers finished the regular season with a record of 12-3-2 and a conference record of 9-2-2. It was the first time since the 2021 season that the Panthers have won 12 regular season games. It will be the third season in a row that the Panthers have found the postseason, a span that included a GLVC Tournament win and NCAA bid in 2021.

The Panthers will take on the sixth seeded Prairie Stars from Illinois Springfield. The Prairie Stars ended with a record of 7-5-5 and a conference record of 7-4-2. Drury has found success against the Prairie Stars in the past, compiling a record of 10-2-2 in their previous matches. However, it was the Prairie Stars that got the better of the Panthers earlier this season, winning 1-0 at home in their October 8th contest. Illinois Springfield outshot the Panthers 9-5 and were able to mostly shut down the Drury offense. Maidson Grandys scored the one goal in the contest for the Prairie Stars. The Panthers tallied two shots on goal from their five taken in the game.
The Drury offense has scored 28 goals this season, while only allowing 7 to their opponents. The Panthers will enter the contest averaging (1.65) goals per game, along with the second most shots averaged a game in the GLVC (18.4). Kourtney Tucker leads the Panthers with 5 goals and 3 assists on the season. Senior goalkeeper Kaitlin Knetzke is second in the nation in shutouts with (12) and leads the GLVC in goals against average at (0.41).

The other quarterfinal matchups this Sunday include (1) Maryville vs. (8) Missouri S&T, (4) Lewis vs. (5) Missouri-St. Louis, and (2) McKendree vs. (7) Rockhurst. The winner of the game between the Panthers and Prairie Stars will move on to play either Rockhurst or McKendree. The next round of games will be played in East Peoria, Illinois on November 10th.

Kickoff for Sunday's game will be 12 pm at Harrison Stadium in Springfield, Missouri and will be streamed live on GLVCSN.
