SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury's
Will Kuster was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Wrestler of the Week in a vote of league coaches on Tuesday.
The sophomore from Jefferson City, Missouri, went 2-0 last weekend competing in the GLVC Championships hosted by Drury in the O'Reilly Family Event Center. Kuster won by Technical Fall, 17-0, over his opponent from Indianapolis, then helped the Panthers to a win over Maryville as he edged Cole Ritter 3-2.
The wins propelled his record to 16-4, with six wins by Technical Fall so far this season at 165 pounds.
The award marks the second time this season he has honored by the league. He won the conference's Player of the Award earlier this season on Nov. 8.
The Panthers compete again Feb. 26 in the NCAA-II SuperRegional held in Edmond, Okla.
