SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury sprinter Ashley Childers was named the Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week by the Great Lakes Valley Conference following her performance at the Arkansas Qualifiers last weekend.
 
Childers, a junior from Ozark, finished fifth in the finals of the 200 meter dash in a meet comprised of several major Division I programs in addition to top 25 D-II squads. Her time of 24.25 in the event ranks 12^th nationally in Division II and is the top time posted so far in the GLVC.
 
The weekly award is the first in Childers' career is the first honor this season for a Drury women's track & field athlete.
 
Childers and the Drury track & field teams compete this weekend at the GLVC indoor championships at Indianapolis.
