Panthers tie Missouri S&T and set program record for consecutive shutouts

ROLLA, Mo.– Drury ran their unbeaten streak to seven games as they battled Missouri S&T to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon in Rolla, Missouri.

The Panthers went to 6-1-1, and 3-0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Miners went to 2-2-3 and 1-2-1 in the league.

The game ended even despite Drury outshooting Missouri S&T 17-0 and the Panthers had an 8-0 advantage in shots on goal. Tara Simon led Drury with five shots and three of them were on-target.

DU goalie Kaitlin Knetzke set a program record with her sixth-straight clean sheet. Knetzke, who was the GLVC's Defensive Player of the Week last week, has not allowed a goal in her last 611 minutes played. The previous shutout streak record was shared by Knetzke (from 2021) and Sarah Reichert (from 1998) at five games.

Miners goalkeeper Viktoria Johnson had eight saves in the shutout tie.

The Panthers are back at home on Sept. 29 when they host Upper Iowa for a 5 p.m. game at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
