SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury's indoor track & field team had three men's runners place in their first competition under new head Luke Karamitros at the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational hosted by Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kansas on Friday.
Cole Sutton, a junior from O'Fallon, Missouri, won the mile and posted the third-fastest time in program history posting a time of 4:14.09.
Nolan Moeller finished fourth and set a program record in the 800 meter run. The sophomore from Ozark ran the event in 1:53.30, breaking the school record previously held by Nick Moler (1:54.11 in 2022).
Colby Garner, a junior from Springfield (Kickapoo HS), finished eighth in an 18-runner field in the 3000 meter run. Garner posted a time of 8:36.34, the fourth-fastest time in team history.
Luke Karamitros was named head coach of the Drury men's and women's track & field and cross country programs on Jan. 16.
The Panthers return to Pittsburg State for their next event as they compete in the Pittsburg State Invitational on Jan. 27 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
