FAYETTE, Iowa – Drury freshman
Mason Platts had a goal and an assist as the Panthers picked up a 3-1 road win at Upper Iowa on Friday night in Fayette, Iowa.
The win lifted Drury's record to 4-3-4 and 2-3-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Peacocks fell to 0-7-3 and 0-5-2 in the league.
Platts got the Panthers on the board in the 19
th minute as the native of Coventry, England, put in his second goal of the year.
Joe Loughnane scored on a penalty kick in the 71
st minute for his first goal of the season stretching Drury's lead to 2-0.
In the 87
th minute,
Lucas Schofield added another score for the Panthers as he scored his third goal of the season and Platts picked up the assist.
Upper Iowa tacked on a late goal from Dexter Garrett to get the Peacocks on the board.
Drury owned a 14-8 advantage in shots, and goalkeeper
Camden Meyer had two saves on his way to the win.
The Panthers head to Romeoville, Illinois, for a Sunday game against Lewis at 2:30 pm.
