ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis scored twice in the second half to sink Drury 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in Romeoville, Illinois.
The Panthers fell to 4-4-4 and 2-4-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Flyers raised their record to 5-1-6 and 5-0-3 in the GLVC.
After a scoreless first half, Lewis struck 52 seconds into the second half as Makonnen Stampley scored his first goal of the year. The Flyers added another in the 63
rd minute as Justin Darlage put in his first goal of the season to give Lewis a 2-0 lead.
Darlarge had a goal and an assist in the game, and Flyers goalkeeper Sabastian Doppelhofer made four saves in the shutout.
Lewis had a 9-7 advantage in shots, but Drury had four shots on goal to Lewis' three.
J.J. Adikwu led the Panthers with three shots and two on goal.
Drury is back at home on Friday when they host Truman State for a 1:30 pm game at Harrison Stadium.
