Both Cross Country teams compete at the Brian T. Simpson Invite hosted by UMSL

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Both of Drury's cross-country teams raced in the Brian T. Simpson Invite hosted by Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) in Columbia. The race was run at Gans Creek Cross Country Course with the men running an 8k and the women a 5k.
 
The women's cross-country team finished sixth out of 16 teams that raced with 168 points. St. Mary won the race with 22 points followed by Southwest Baptist with 67 points. Josie Diffendaffer finished at the top of the Drury lineup in 15th place with an 18:55.36. Ashley Sexton (19:44.43) and Georgi Carolus (19:47.31) finished four spots apart from each other in the 31st and 35th. Jasmym Douglas (19:50.73) finished in 37th. The final scoring Panther was Morgan Miller with a (20:40.41). The overall winner was Reagan Hiebert from St. Mary with a 17:33.50.
 
The Drury men's cross-country team finished second out of 16 teams with 59 points. St. Mary also won the men's race with a 39. Tyler Harris led the way for the Panthers with a 24:57.98. That was good to finish second. Topi Alahuhta also finished in the top 10 with an eighth-place finish at 25:23.73. Ethan Haynes (25:31.47), Colby Garner (25:39.88), and Santiago Nunez (25:42.54) all finished in the top 18 with Haynes at 14, Garner at 17, and Nunez at 18. The overall winner was Dominick Beine of St. Mary with a 24:54.37.
 
This was the final meet of the regular season for the Panthers. They will race in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships on October 26 hosted by Illinois-Springfield.
