SPRINGFIELD, Mo – Drury Volleyball took their second straight match to five sets coming out with the win over Upper Iowa.
 
The Peacocks won the first set behind an 8-2 run moving their advantage 22-16. Drury battled back to keep it close, but it was too little too late. A slow second set for the Panthers allowed Upper Iowa to steal the set 25-12. A third-set regroup for Drury led them to a 25-19 win. Trailing 12-7, Drury pulled together a 12-5 run to grab the lead. The Peacocks were not able to fight back and fell 25-19. Coming off their set win the Panthers had a slow start to the fourth set. Drury was behind 14-9 before an attack error from Upper Iowa turned things around for Drury. The Panthers finished the fourth set on a 10-1 run and took the set 25-18. The fifth set was dominated by Drury. The Peacocks were able to keep it close but with Drury up 6-5, Kaitlin Fasbender had a kill that propelled Drury to a 15-7 set win.
 
Kayli Duncan was responsible for 14 kills, leading Drury. Mailie Chretien had 12 kills of her own with 16 kills. Lauren Tyler had 50 assists from her setter position. Kim Quinit led all Drury players with 19 digs.
 
The Panthers head to Hammond, Indiana to play in the Midwest Region Crossover next weekend. The opponents are not yet set and will be determined early next week.
