SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury scored three times in the second half on their way to a 4-1 win over Truman State at Harrison Stadium in Springfield on Friday afternoon.
The Panthers raised their record to 5-4-4 and 3-4-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bulldogs dropped to 3-5-3 and 2-4-3 in the GLVC.
Truman State got on the board first, scoring in the 20
th minute on a goal from Landon Keisker.
Drury responded to tie the game before halftime, though, as
Carson Morgan scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 36
th minute while
Joe Loughnane earned the assist.
The Panthers then took over in the second half. Drury took the lead on a goal by
Mason Platts, his third of the year, in the 56
th minute, then grabbed a two-goal advantage when Loughnane found the net six minutes later. The Panthers capped their scoring on a goal from
Abdullah Iqbal, his third of the season, in the 75
th minute with an assist from
Jude Rodwell.
Loughnane had a goal and an assist in the game to go with six shots, including three on goal. Goalkeeper
Ben Barnett, playing in his first game of the season, had eight saves and got the win for Drury.
The Panthers continue their homestand on Sunday when they host Quincy for a 2:30 pm kickoff at Harrison Stadium.
