Three Panthers named to the CSC Academic All-District team

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2024 Volleyball Academic All-District team on December 17. This year's team features three players from Drury. To be eligible for this honor, players must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and achieve success on the court throughout the season. Student-athletes must also be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
 
Payton Mitchell, a sophomore defensive specialist from Jefferson City, Missouri, made the team for the first time in her career. This season, Mitchell recorded 2.55 digs per set in 106 sets play. She is majoring in Management.
 
Senior middle blocker Kayli Duncan made the team for the first time. Duncan, a Management and Marketing major, led Drury in kills per set (2.68), points per set (3.58), blocks, and blocks per set (129 / 1.39). Duncan finished her Drury career 10th in blocks and broke the single-game solo block record against Southwest Minnesota State with nine. Duncan is eligible for academic all-American.
 
Mailie Chretien earned academic all-district honors for the first time. The Canadian had a kills per set average of 2.54 and digs per set average of 3.83, both second on the team. The junior is majoring in Management and Marketing.
 
Drury ended the season with a 14-13 record.
