Ashley Childers wins two medals on Sunday at the GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Ashley Childers earned two medals and men's runner Nolan Moeller won a bronze in the 800 meter run on Sunday at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
The GLVC Championships concluded on Sunday after two days of competition. The Panthers men's team finished eighth with 22 points. Lewis won the men's indoor track & field championship with 196 points. Missouri S&T was second with 126, and Indianapolis with third with 92 points.
 
The Drury women's team also came in eighth and finished with 18 points. Lewis won the women's title with 174 points, while Indianapolis was second with 145 and Southwest Baptist was third with 143 points.
 
Sunday Highlights
 
  • Ashley Childers came in third in the 60 meter dash. The senior from Ozark ran a 7.71 in Sunday's finals.
  • Childers earned her second bronze medal in the conference championships with a third place in the 200 meter dash. Childers posted a time of 24.29, just 0.89 seconds off the winning time.
  • Faith Chepkondol was eighth in the long jump and posted the second-best mark in program history at 5.14 meters (16'10.5")
  • Nolan Moeller was third in the men's 800 meter run. The Ozark product posted a time of 1:53.62.
  • Cole Sutton finished fifth in the mile. The junior from O'Fallon, Missouri, ran a time of 4:17.60  and finished just five seconds off the winning time
  • Tyler Harris came in fifth in the 3000 meter run. Harris, a freshman from Springfield-Kickapoo, had a time of 8:36.85
 
The NCAA-II Championships are March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kan.
