CARMEL, Ind.— Drury women's golfer
Taryn Overstreet finished tied for 19
th at the NCAA-II East Regional after the third and final round on Wednesday at the 6,061-yard, par-72 Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana. The senior from Jackson, Missouri, shot a hole-in-one to highlight her round on Wednesday. Overstreet shot a seven-over-par 79 in the third round to finish the tournament with a +17, 233.
Her performance marked the best finish for a Drury individual at the NCAA-II regional championship since 2015.
Overstreet started Wednesday's round on the back nine, and on her third hole of the day, she produced an ace. Her hole-in-one came on the 12
th hole, a 125-yard, par-3. Overstreet was five-over-par after her first nine holes and ended the day at +7. Her 17-over-par in the tournament had her finish in a four-way for 19
th with Paula Badino of Grand Valley State, Maya Hunter from Northern Michigan, and Klaira Paramore of Ashland.
Overstreet was even-par after the first round on Monday, then shot 82 in her second round on Tuesday.
Olivia Stoll from Grand Valley State won the individual championship in the region after shooting a +7, 233. Mary Kelly Mulcahy from Findlay was second and finished one shot back, while four players tied for third at nine-over-par.
Defending national champion Findlay won the team regional championship as they took a tie-breaker over Indianapolis. Both teams will advance to the NCAA-II Tournament along with Grand Valley State, Ashland, and Davenport. Individual qualifiers to the national tournament include Elaine Grant from Illinois Springfield (+9, 225), and Wilma Zanderau from Missouri-St. Louis (+10).
Overstreet's individual at-large bid marked the second straight year a Drury player has reached the NCAA-II regional and she became the ninth player in program history to compete in the championship as an individual.
