LEBANON, Ill.– Drury and 10
th ranked McKendree were deadlocked at 0-0 for nearly 88 minutes, then both teams scored and ended the night tied 1-1 on Friday night in Lebanon, Ill.
The Panthers moved their record to 3-1-3 and 1-1-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bearcats went to 5-0-2 and 2-0-2 in the GLVC.
McKendree scored the first goal of the game with 2:01 remaining, but the Panthers answered 41 seconds later to earn the tie. Drury's
Carson Morgan scored with an assist from
Cayden Meyer to level the game at 1-1. It was the second goal of the year for Morgan, a junior from Springfield-Catholic.
Morgan's game-tying goal answered McKendree's goal from Matteo Schubert in the 88
th minute. Schubert's goal was his second of the year as he put a ball in the left corner of the net, barely out of reach from goalkeeper
Camden Meyer.
Meyer had four saves for Drury in the draw, while Christian Herluf had two saves for the Bearcats. McKendree had 12 shots with five on goal, while the Panthers put up 11 shots with three on the net.
Drury continues their road trip on Sunday when they take on Maryville at 2:30 pm in St. Louis, Missouri.
