ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Drury and MoWest played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night in St. Joseph. The tie moves Drury's record to 7-2-5.
The Griffons controlled the entire first half, except for a few Panther counterattacks. The best of these came in the 16th minute, when
Keira Love broke away and lofted a shot over Morgan Byrd, the MWSU keeper, who had come off her line. The ball deflected off the inside of the post and bounced out.
Holland Hawkins had another chance five minutes later, but Byrd made the save.
The Griffons kept up their offensive pressure in the second half, forcing
Katy Fitzler to make three saves. MoWest earned four free kicks in their attacking end during the final 45 minutes. The Panthers managed only two shots in the second half, with just one on target.
