SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury cross country is set to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25, hosted by Lewis in Romeoville, Ill. The women's 6,000 meters is set to start at 9:30 a.m., followed by the men's 8,000 meters at 10:30 a.m.
 
The Drury men's team has posted several top times across this season. Tyler Harris earned GLVC Men's Runner of the Week after his performance at the Chile Pepper Festival, where he improved his third-fastest time in school history (24:36.9). Ethan Haynes has competed in every meet this season and also had his best time of the season at the Chile Pepper Festival (25:45.4). 
 
The women's team has shown steady improvement throughout the season. Cera Eckenroth has competed in every competition this season and ran her season-best time at the Queen City Classic (17:52). Josie Diffendaffer began her season at the Chile Pepper Festival, where she posted an 18:30.7 in the 5K, which is the 11th-fastest in Drury history. 
 
At last year's championship, Drury's men finished in second place with 68 points, matching their best-ever finish in the GLVC championships. The women placed sixth with 184 points. 
 
Saturday's championship will be the longest race of the season for both programs, moving from the men's 5K to an 8K, and the women's 3K going to a 6K. 
 
The top 20 individual finishers for each gender will be named All-GLVC, and the winner of each race will be named the GLVC Runners of the Year. 
 
The Cross Country Championships will be carried live on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN.com).
 
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the GLVC Championships on Saturday, the Drury cross country programs will compete in the NCAA-II Midwest Regional on Saturday, Nov. 8, held in Kenosha, Wis.
