Drury's Offense Scores Three Times to Beat UIS, 3-1

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Drury women's soccer defeated Illinois Springfield on Friday evening, 3-1, behind three second-half goals at Kiwanis Stadium on the campus of UIS.

In the first half, both teams had limited scoring opportunities, each recording three shots, and neither side posed significant threats.

Momentum shifted in the second half as offenses took over. Elena Perez stole the ball and unleashed a 35-yard shot to hit the upper 90, opening the scoring in the 49th minute. Five minutes later, UIS answered to tie the match.

Leah McDonald secured the win in the 67th minute off a throw-in and dribbled into the box to squeak it past the extended reach of the Prairie Stars keeper. Keira Love added an insurance goal a minute later off a fast break pass from Elena Perez.
