SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Fifth-seeded Drury meets with second-seeded McKendree in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championship Sunday afternoon at Creve Coeur Soccer Park in St. Louis.
The nationally ranked 16th Bearcats and Panthers are meeting in the GLVC Tournament for the third straight season. McKendree has bested Drury in those matches. This season, McKendree defeated Drury 2-0 at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.
The championship match will be streamed on the GLVCSN.
SERIES HISTORY
- Drury and McKendree are meeting for the second time this season.
- The first meeting was played in Springfield, with McKendree winning 2-0.
- McKendree's Maddie Mauch and Ella Post each scored a one in the September meeting.
- Drury and McKendree are meeting in the GLVC Tournament for the third straight season. The Bearcats have won both in the semifinals. Last season, McKendree won 2-1. In 2023, 2-1 in overtime.
- Last season, Holland Hawkins scored the lone Drury goal with an assist from Keira Love.

STORYLINES
- Drury has reached their 12th GLVC Tournament and 16th program conference tournament (four in the Missouri Valley Conference)
- The Panthers have a 9-9-4 record all-time in the GLVC Tournament.
- Justin Olson is 5-3-2 in his Drury tenure in the tournament, including a tournament title in 2021.
- In Olson's first five seasons at Drury, the Panthers have made the GLVC Finals once. The lone time was during the 2021 season when Drury won their second GLVC Championship.
- No current Panthers have played in a GLVC Championship. One of Drury's assistant coaches, Mackenzie Serrano, played in the 2021 final. A ten-minute shift off the bench.
- Drury has made the GLVC Championship twice prior to the 2025 season, in 2021 and 2007. Drury has won both of those. In 2021, Drury beat Southern Indiana 2-0, and in 2007, the Panthers beat UMSL in PKs after a 0-0 tie. Drury won the PK battle 5-4.
- Olson is 5-3-2 all-time in GLVC Tournament play.
- Drury's unbeaten streak extends to 12 matches (7-0-5).
- Keira Love has assisted on three Holland Hawkins goals over the last two seasons in the GLVC Tournament. Two of the three have come in the last two games, and the first one was against McKendree in the 2024 GLVC Semifinals.
- With Drury's win against Quincy, the Panthers have won ten games in a season for the fourth time under Olson and 12th time in program history.
LOOKING AHEAD
The winner of the GLVC Championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Regional. The loser will have to wait until Monday night to see if they receive an at-large bid to the region. Both McKendree and Drury are projected to receive a bid to the regional.
