SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury women's soccer kicks off the 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional on Friday afternoon against No. 13 Ashland at McKendree.
 
Drury and Ashland are meeting for the second consecutive season in the regional tournament. The Panthers took last season's meeting 1-0 behind Bella Hernandez's goal in the 47th minute. The 2025 edition of the match will be the fourth time the two teams have played and the third time in the national tournament.
 
The match will be streamed live on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN) for free.
 
SERIES HISTORY

• Drury and Ashland are meeting for the fourth time in the two programs' history.
• The 2025 edition is the first time the two teams are playing in back-to-back seasons.
• The Panthers defeated the Eagles on their home turf in the regional semifinal, 1-0, last season to advance to the sweet 16.
• Two of the first three meetings between the teams have been in the NCAA Regional Tournament. Drury has won both of those meetings, 1-0.
• Every time that Drury and Ashland have played, the Panthers have had to travel to Ohio. This match will be the first time the two teams play away from Ashland.
• In last season's meeting, Bella Hernandez scored on Elena Perez's assist two minutes into the second half. Katy Fitzler made three saves and protected the net on six corners.

• Drury has reached their fourth NCAA Tournament and third under Justin Olson.
• Drury earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after tying with McKendree in the GLVC Final and beating the Bearcats 3-2 in PKs.
• The Panthers have a 5-3 record all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
• Twice, Drury has reached the regional final, in 2024 and 2007, both resulting in losses to Grand Valley.
• The Panthers have won at least one game in their first three appearances in the national tournament.
• The shortest stay in the tournament was Olson's first appearance in 2021. Drury fell to Saginaw Valley 3-2 in the regional semifinal.
• Three current Panthers have recorded at least one point in the national tournament: Elena Perez (three assists), Keira Love (one goal, which was her first career goal), and Bella Hernandez (one goal).
• Last season, Katy Fitzler recorded 12 saves in the NCAA Tournament.
• Under Justin Olson, Drury has a goal differential of +2 in the NCAA Tournament. In the three Drury appearances, the program is +4 in goal differential.
• The Panthers received four all-GLVC Tournament selections.
• Katy Fitzler, Holland Hawkins, Leah McDonald, and Haley Inscoe all received the honor.
• Drury had four Panthers selected to all-GLVC teams.
• Katy Fitzler was the league's goalkeeper of the year and a first-team selection.
  • Fitzler is the second goalkeeper of the year in program history behind Kaitlin Knetzke in 2023.
• Elena Perez earned her second straight second-team All-GLVC honor.
• Holland Hawkins was named to the third team after earning first team a season ago.
• Anna Harris was voted to her first career All-GLVC, earning third team honors.
• Since the start of October, Holland Hawkins has scored five goals.
• In Hawkins' two seasons as a Panther, Drury is 10-2-1 in games she has scored in.
• Katy Fitzler holds the Drury career record for Goals Against Average with a .56 in 43 games.
  • The 0.56 GAA ranks second among active NCAA-II goalkeepers.
