Panthers Set to Face No. 13 Eagles in NCAA Regional Opener Friday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury women's soccer kicks off the 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional on Friday afternoon against No. 13 Ashland at McKendree.
 
Drury and Ashland are meeting for the second consecutive season in the regional tournament. The Panthers took last season's meeting 1-0 behind Bella Hernandez's goal in the 47th minute. The 2025 edition of the match will be the fourth time the two teams have played and the third time in the national tournament.
 
The match will be streamed live on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN) for free.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Drury and Ashland are meeting for the fourth time in the two programs' history.
  • The 2025 edition is the first time the two teams are playing in back-to-back seasons.
  • The Panthers defeated the Eagles on their home turf in the regional semifinal, 1-0, last season to advance to the sweet 16.
  • Two of the first three meetings between the teams have been in the NCAA Regional Tournament. Drury has won both of those meetings, 1-0.
  • Every time that Drury and Ashland have played, the Panthers have had to travel to Ohio. This match will be the first time the two teams play away from Ashland.

The winner of the Drury and Ashland match will advance to the regional semifinal to play the winner of McKendree and Missouri-St. Louis.
