SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury cross country will compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, Nov. 8, in Kenosha, Wis. The women's 6,000-meter race begins at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 8,000 meters at 11:15 a.m.
 
The Drury men's team is coming off a fifth-place finish at the (Great Lakes Valley Conference) GLVC Championships. Tyler Harris was the frontrunner for the Panthers, placing second as he broke the school record in the 8,000-meter race with a time of 23:51.13. 
 
The women's team is coming off a sixth-place finish at the GLVC Championships, led by Cera Eckenroth, who placed fourth with a time of 21:48.73 in the 6,000-meter run. 
 
At last year's regional, Drury's men had their best performance in 14 years, finshing sixth out of 27 teams, while the women's team placed 20th
 
The top three teams from each regional automatically qualify for the NCAA Championship, along with 10 at-large selections. Individuals can also qualify separately if they are the top two individuals who are not part of a qualifying team, place in the top five and are not part of a qualifying team, or receive an at-large selection. 
 
The top 25 individual finishers for each gender will earn All-Region honors by the USTFCCCA. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, back in Kenosha, Wis. for qualifying teams and individuals.
