Jeremiah Halter opens the NCAA-II National Championship on Friday
13 days after
Jeremiah Halter took third place in the NCAA-II Super Regional IV for the 174-weight class he will open the national championship against Clinton Morisette of King at approximately 9:15 am.

This season, Halter holds a 19-18 record. However, Halter has wrestled tough in his last five matches, going 4-1 in those matches. His only loss came in the super-regional semifinals to Matt Ortiz of McKendree, who ended up placing second in the super-regional. Halter's most recent match was a win over Central Oklahoma's Zane Coleman via an 8-3 decision.

Halter's first match will be against Clinton Morisette of King. Morrisette is 17-2 on the season. He took first place in Super Regional II with a 12-9 win. Morrisette is on a 12-match winning streak, with five of them coming by fall. None of the falls took longer than 2:16. This is Morisette's second time wrestling in the national championship; he was a qualifier in the 2022-23 season.

Halter's advancement to nationals marks the 10th time in Drury's nine-year history they have advanced a wrestler beyond the Super Regional. It is the first time in two years the Panthers have sent a wrestler to the national championship, as Drury had three advances in 2023. Halter is the first Drury wrestler to represent the program in the 174-pound class.

If Halter were to win, he would wrestle fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) wrestler, Lawson Losee of Upper Iowa later Friday morning. Losee beat Halter in the Drury vs Upper Iowa dual on February 9.

If Halter were to lose, he would wrestle the loser of Wyatt Reisz (23-4, Colorado Mines) or #2 Josh Kenny (17-5, Grand Valley St.) Friday morning.
