WHEATON, Ill.— Drury ended the first round of the Lewis Spring Invitational in the lead after shooting 31-over par at the Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois, on Monday. The Panthers will go to the final 18 holes in Tuesday's second and final round with a three-shot lead over second place over Davenport. Quincy is in third place in the 12 team field at 35-over par.
Taryn Overstreet led the Panthers in the opening round and is three shots off the overall lead after posting an opening round four-over par, 76. Overstreet is tied for third in the 59-player field.
Grace Stafford is tied for seventh at eight-over par (80), and
Jade Carter is tied for ninth with a nine-over, 81.
Isabelle Thrall shot a 10-over par 82 and is tied for 13
th.
Hope Tuttle is tied for 50
th after shooting a 19-over par 91.
Elaine Grant from Illinois Springfield leads the tournament at one over-par. AJ Powell from Wisconsin Parkside is one shot back in second, then Overstreet and Lily Vardaman from Quincy are tied for third at +4.
The second and final round starts Tuesday morning in Wheaton, Illinois.
