SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury women's soccer hosts Washburn on Friday night at Harrison Stadium in Springfield before traveling to St. Louis on Sunday to start the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) season against Missouri-St. Louis.
 
The Panthers enter the weekend coming off a win against Emporia State, 1-0. Drury starts the weekend against Washburn. The Panthers and Icabods have played twice prior, most recently in 2023. The 2023 matchup was played at a neutral site in St. Louis to open the season. Washburn won 2-0.
 
The GLVC season opens on Sunday for Drury against UMSL. The Panthers are currently on a four-game unbeaten streak against the Tritons, with a 3-0-1 record. This is the fourth time Drury and UMSL have met in a league opener; Drury has won every meeting.
 
Both matches will be held on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN).
 
SERIES HISTORY VS WASHBURN

• Drury and Washburn will meet for the third time.
• Both teams have one win; Washburn holds a 2-1 goal advantage.
• This is the second meeting between Drury and Washburn in Springfield; the first was in 2012, resulting in a 1-0 Drury win.

• UMSL has held a 13-10-5 record over Drury since their first meeting in 1992.
• Drury is unbeaten in the last four matches, three wins and one tie. The last two meetings have been Panther wins.
• The longest win streak in series history is five games from 2015 to 2018, with UMSL winning those.

 
WEEKEND STORYLINES

• Drury dropped out of the United Soccer Coaches (USC) poll after picking up a win in their only game of the first week.
• The Panthers had the largest drop of any team in the poll.
• Katy Fitzler is entering the week after winning the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week. It was Fitzler's first of her career after earning her 15th career shutout.
• Drury starts the weekend coming off a win. Last season, the Panthers were 10-3-3 following a win, outscoring opponents 27 to 10 in those games.
• Under Justin Olson, Drury is 33-11-10 in the game following a win.
• The game Sunday against UMSL is the GLVC opener. Since 2005, Drury's first season in the GLVC, the Panthers have been 10-7-3 in the first GLVC game of the season.
• Justin Olson has a career 4-0-2 record in GLVC openers, 4-0-1 at Drury.
