SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – No. 14 Drury women's soccer will kickoff the 2025 campaign against Emporia State on Thursday at Harrison Stadium in Springfield, Mo.

The Panthers have not won a match against the Hornets since the 2013 season. The most recent meeting between the two squads came a season ago in 1-1 draw in Emporia, Kan. The 2025 edition of the Drury and Emporia State matchup will be the sixth all-time. Each team holds two wins with a draw.

The season opener will be on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN) with Matthew Frizzell on the call.

SERIES HISTORY

• Drury and Emporia State will meet for the sixth time overall and the first time in the season opener.
• There is no advantage in the series as it sits 2-2-1. Emporia State currently holds a two-match unbeaten streak.
• This is the first time since 2012 the Panthers and Hornets have played in Springfield. That match resulted in a 3-1 win for Emporia State.

STORYLINES

• Drury enters the 2025 season as the 14^th ranked team in the nation, the second highest preseason ranking the Panthers have received, only behind the 2008 team that started ranked 12^th.
• The Panthers are coming off the program's second NCAA-II Midwest Regional Final.
• Drury was picked preseason second by GLVC coaches, even after earning seven first place votes.
• Justin Olson enters his sixth season at the helm of the Drury program, 55-21-19.
• Three All-GLVC selections return for Drury, Holland Hawkins, Katy Fitzler, and Elena Perez.
• Fitzler enters the 2025 season as the Drury career record holder in Goals Against Average with a .54.
• 54% of Drury's points from the 2024 season do not return for the 2025 season.

Drury will return to action Friday, Sept. 12 with a 5 p.m. contest against Washburn at Harrison Stadium.
