SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury finished 12th at the Payne Stewart Memorial Tournament hosted by Missouri State on Oct. 13.
The tournament was played at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield. The par-71 course measured 6,141 yards. The field featured 12 teams, 11 of which competed at the NCAA Division I level. Drury was the lone non-Division I program in the field. A total of 66 individuals competed in the 54-hole event.
Oral Roberts (+23) won the tournament by four strokes over host Missouri State (+27). South Dakota (+47) rounded out the top three after holding the lead following the first round. Drury (+105) finished 12th, one stroke behind Western Illinois (+104).
Missouri State's Clementina Castano (E) won the individual title. Anna Swan of Oral Roberts and Marlene Edgeman of Missouri State tied for second at 3 over.
Chloe Wills (+14) was Drury's top finisher, tying for 23rd with three others.
Phoebe Bourne (+21) finished 42nd and was the Panthers' second-highest finisher.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Drury's second round was its best of the tournament, shooting 315.
- As a team, the Panthers totaled 14 birdies and 125 pars.
- Chloe Wills posted Drury's best individual round, shooting even par in the third round.
- Wills tied for the lead among all individuals in par-5 scoring average at 4.67.
