SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury wrestling is set for the NCAA-II Super Region IV Championship on Sunday, March 1, hosted by No. 2 Central Oklahoma.
The Panthers continue the postseason following a sixth-place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championship Tournament, falling to Maryville in the quarterfinals before narrowly dropping the fifth-place match to Quincy.
Jeremiah Halter returns to Supers after placing third in the 174-pound weight class to earn a berth to the NCAA National Championships last year. This season, Halter has a 17-16 record and leads the team with four technical falls.
Drury's two All-GLVC representatives, Nate Wishne and Hunter Tennison, are set to compete in the Super Regional. Wishne has a 17-11 record with a team-high seven decisions. Tennison owns an 11-8 record and captured a title earlier this season at the Tom Smith Open.
Bryson Humphries is back for the Panthers at 125 pounds after missing the GLVC Championship. The sophomore holds a 16-8 record with four falls and three major decisions.
The Super Region IV features three top-25 programs and five others receiving votes in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association poll. The top three finishers in each weight class will qualify for the NCAA National Championships.
