BOLIVAR , Mo. – Drury hosted the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club on March 17 and 18.
The Panthers had two teams compete in the event. Drury's top team finished in seventh (+100), and the second team finished ninth (+128) of ten teams. No. 36 Central Missouri won the event with a +47. William Jewell was the best-finishing GLVC team with a +77 in third place.
Central Missouri had the top two finishes with Ansley Giesselmann (+7) and Libby Green (+9). Clara Peake (Northwest Missouri) and Brylie Ellis (William Jewell) also each finished nine-over.
Drury's top finisher was
Grace Stafford. Stafford was tied for 18, shooting 21-over through both rounds.
Jade Carter was tied for 21st with a +23.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Drury's top team improved their round total from day one to day two. In the first round, the Panthers shot 341, followed by a 335 in the second round.
- The Panthers second team shot a 352 in both rounds.
- Grace Stafford finished the highest she has in an event this season, tied for 18th.
- Avah Ortiz-Harrill and Elizabeth Adkisson each played in their first tournaments of the season.
- Drury's top team recorded 11 birdies in the tournament, third most in the field.
- Chloe Wills had five birdies in the event, the second most of all the players.
