BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – The Flyers Spring Invitational was completed on Tuesday afternoon (March 31) after a shortened Round 2 was caused by the weather. The Drury women's golf team finished in eighth place.
 
Bolingbrook Golf Course was the host course for the tournament, which featured 13 teams representing the GLVC and GLIAC. The par-72 course was 5,976 yards in distance. A total of 64 individuals competed in the 27-hole event.
 
Maryville (+26), Lewis (+30), and McKendree (+41) led the way as teams. Drury finished in eighth place, shooting 72-over par in 27 holes.
 
Grace Stafford (+15) was the Panthers top finisher; she finished tied for 22nd. Chloe Wills (+17) was two strokes behind Stafford and finished tied for 29th. Illinois Springfield's Elaine Grant (+2) won the event for the second consecutive season. Fernanda Diaz-Pizarro (Maryville), Alba Camps (McKendree), Kendall Farm (Lewis), and Zih Cing Wang (Maryville) each tied for second, shooting six-over.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Drury had the sixth most pars in the field with 56.
• As a team, the Panthers shot a 337 in the first round. After nine holes in round two, Drury shot 174, on pace for a 334.
• In the 27 holes, Drury totaled only four birdies, led by Grace Gilbert with two in the first round.
