ROLLA, Mo. – No. 10 Drury men's soccer fell to Missouri S&T, 1-0, in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play Wednesday night.
Drury created the first chance of the match in the seventh minute when
Caua Nascimento sent a shot wide.
Steen Voller recorded the Panthers' first shot on goal in the 20th minute, forcing a save from Missouri S&T goalkeeper Cavitt Bruhn.
The Miners broke through three minutes later as Jake Salazar-Blair scored off an assist from Joseph Sommer to give Missouri S&T a 1-0 lead.
Mason Platts looked for an equalizer with a pair of shots later in the half, while
Ben Barnett made two saves to keep the Panthers within one heading into halftime.
The Panthers continued to search for the equalizer in the second half, as
Sam Tagg opened the half with a shot in the 49th minute. Barnett made his third save of the match in the 58th minute before Drury generated multiple chances down the stretch.
Ignacio Fojo and Platts forced two more saves from Bruhn in the 79th and 84th minutes. Drury continued to press late but was unable to find the equalizer, falling 1-0 on the road.
