MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 15 Florida Tech posted a 6-4 victory over the Drury Baseball Panthers here on Sunday.
Drury is now 3-5 on the season and Florida Tech improved to 18-1.
Mike Rafter singled to score 
Ryan Wadkins in the top of the third to get the Drury Panthers on the board.  Tech used a big third inning to take the lead scoring four runs on three hits and two errors for a 4-1 lead.  Drury took advantage of three Tech errors in the top of the fifth to score a run and cut the lead to 4-2 when 
Spencer Wilmes scored. 
A pair of back to back homers for Tech in the bottom of the eighth pushed lead to 6-2.  The Panthers scored two runs in the top of the ninth coming on a 
Luke Tewes RBI groundout that scored Wilmes followed by a 
Dallas Williams RBI groundout that plated Wadkins but the Drury Panthers could draw no closer as Tech held on for the 6-4 win.
Tech finished with eight hits and Drury had six in the contest led by Rafter and Tewes who each had two hits and an RBI.  Ricky Rodriguez had three hits for Florida Tech.
Ty Cohen (3-0) earned the win for Tech with three strikeouts in five innings of action with 
Ryan Colombo (0-1) receiving the loss and striking out two in four innings while allowing five hits.
The Drury baseball team will open Great Lakes Valley Conference play in their home opener on Saturday vs. Lewis with doubleheader action set to start at noon.
