RENSSELAER, Ind. – Drury won for the sixth time in seven games with a 3-1 conference victory at Saint Joseph's on Friday night in Rensselaer, Indiana.
The Panthers improved to 8-4 and 2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while dropping the Pumas to 2-9 and 0-3 in the league.
Drury had match point in the third set with a 24-20 lead but Saint Joseph's rallied and stayed alive in the match with a 29-27 win forcing a fourth set. The Panthers then made quick work of the Pumas in the fourth winning 25-14 to clinch the road victory.
Three Panthers had nine kills for Drury as Bentley Mara, Brooke Antenten and Sarah Bateman tied for the team lead. Kendra Sater had 21 assists and five aces while McKenna Poynter posted 20 digs.
Drury continues their road trip tomorrow when they take on Indianapolis. Game time is 2 p.m. (central time) Saturday afternoon.
