ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drury won the first two sets but Missouri-St. Louis rallied at home to beat the Panthers 3-2 on Friday night at the Mark Twain Building in St. Louis.
The Panthers fell to 9-5 and 3-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. UMSL rose to 8-4 and 3-2.
Drury won 25-23 and 25-22 in the opening two sets. The Tritons took the third set 25-18 and the Panthers had match point with a 24-21 lead in the fourth but UMSL fought back to force a fifth set winning 29-27.
With the fifth set even through the first 20 points, the Tritons earned four of the last five points to win the decisive set 15-12.
Brooke Antenen led Drury with 17 kills. She added 27 assists and 12 digs. McKenna Poynter had 26 digs.
The game marked Drury's third loss this season when they have had a 2-0 lead.
The Panthers remain on the road and play at Maryville on Saturday at 3 p.m.
