INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Drury wrestlers Blake Clevenger, Peter Kuster, and Jake Byrd were named honorable mention All-Great Lakes Valley Conference performers as the Panthers went 2-4 at the GLVC Duals last weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
Clevenger, a senior from Kearney, Missouri competing at 157 pounds, went 5-1 last weekend with two wins by Major Decision. Kuster went 4-2 during the week as the freshman from Jefferson City wrestling at 141 pounds earned two wins by Fall and two by Major Decision. Jake Byrd, a sophomore from Jackson, Missouri at 133 pounds, won a pair of matches during the weekend and picked up a win by Major Decision.
 
The Panthers lost their GLVC opener to 15th ranked Indianapolis 39-10 on Saturday, then lost to Bellarmine 35-12 later that afternoon. Drury ended the day, however, with a 34-12 win over Truman State, and the Panthers started Sunday with a 30-3 victory over Ouachita Baptist, a team tied for 25th in the NCAA-II rankings. Sixth-ranked McKendree defeated Drury 41-5, and the Panthers concluded the event with a 36-6 loss to 13th ranked Maryville.
 
"We have been tested with adversity as a team this season and will continue to perform and improve as a group," said Drury wrestling head coach James Reynolds. "We have many great individual performances across the entire lineup throughout the weekend and will continue to do more as the season winds down with our last couple of duals and postseason championships. It's important for our team to thank the fans and families that traveled to Indianapolis and tuned in at home but could not travel. We are fortunate and grateful for all of the continued support."
 
Senior Ben Melton was named as Drury's James A. Spalding Sportsmanship nominee at the GLVC event.
 
The Panthers return to action on Friday for two duals to conclude the regular season. Drury hosts Westminster at 1 p.m. and Central Missouri at 3 p.m. at Weiser Gym.
