ORLANDO, Fla.– The Drury University Cheer team won UCA National Championship in the Division II Small Co-Ed competition on Saturday at the College Cheerleading & Dance National Championship in Orlando, Florida.
 
The Panthers advanced through Friday's preliminary round in a field of 16 squads to get to Saturday's finals, then performed a nearly flawless routine to finish with four more points than the next closest squad. 
 
Wilmington, the defending national champion, finished second in the competition, while Midwestern State was third, Shorter came in fourth, and Southern Indiana was fifth.

Drury's national championship comes on the heels of two straight second-place finishes in 2018 and 2019, and the Panthers have finished fifth or better eight times in the last nine years.
