ORLANDO, Fla.— The Drury University cheer team finished as the national runner-up in the Open Small Co-Ed Division at the UCA Cheerleading and Dance National Championship in Orlando, Florida on Saturday.
 
The Panthers advanced through a preliminary round on Friday into Saturday's finals. Drury posted a raw score of 91.1 and an event score of 89.1 for second place. Northwest Community College won the competition while Wilmington University was third and Coastal Alabama came in fourth.
 
This year's finish marked the fifth year in a row the Drury Cheer team has finished in the top three at the national championships, and it is their third silver medal finish in five years.
