KANEOHE, Hawaii - The Drury baseball Panthers defeated Hawaii Pacific 14-8 to take three of the five games in the series here on Sunday.
Â
Drury jumped all over the Sharks when they scored five runs on just one hit in the opening frame. A pair of RBI walks, an RBI fielders choice and a 2 RBI single by
Cole Dunham to plate
Jacob Mitchell and
Aaron Mann did the damage.
The Sharks waited till the fifth to have their big come back inning and scored four runs on one hit and one error to pull to within a run 5-4. A Hawaii Pacific error and an RBI single by Mitchell that plated two extended the Panther lead to 8-4 in the sixth.
A huge Panther seventh inning in which they scored six runs on four hits, including a
Stephen Randazzo double that drove home a pair, gave the Panthers a healthy advantage. The Sharks took advantage of a few Panther miscues to score their final four runs on just one hit in the bottom of the eighth.
Randazzo went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored twice and Mitchell finished with four RBIs, a pair of hits, and scored twice.Â
Logan Pittman (1-0) earned the win on the mound in 1.1 innings of action.
