CASEYVILLE, Ill.— The Drury men's golf team finished seventh out of nine teams at the McKendree Dual Gender Tournament at the Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois, on Tuesday.
The Panthers shot a 34-over-par, 898, in the 54-hole event and finished three shots back of Kentucky Wesleyan for sixth. McKendree won the tournament with an 18-under-par, 846. Southern Indiana went 11-under to finish second, and Lindenwood finished third at four-over-par.
Chase Gafner led the Panthers going one-over-par during the tournament. The senior from Springfield-Glendale shot even-par in the second and third rounds and tied for 13
th among 45 golfers.
Tony Brandt shot a one-under-par 71 on Tuesday and finished seven-over with a 223.
Jack Cronin tied for 30
th at +14,
Walker Tynes shot 15-over and tied for 32
nd, and
Jack Day finished 35
th with a +16.
McKendree's Fabian Wennerlof won individual honors, shooting an eight-under-par, 208.
The tournament was Drury's last event of the fall semester. The Panthers will compete again next spring.
