Panthers end regular season with 6-1 win over Quincy

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The 17th ranked Drury Panthers ended their regular season with a 6-1 win over Quincy on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
 
Drury will head to the postseason with a 10-5 record and a 4-1 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Hawks fell to 5-8 and 1-3 in the league.
 
The Panthers earned the first point of Saturday's match winning all three doubles matches. Nico Hadeler and Marlon Wilken improved to 10-3 and 5-0 in the league, winning in Drury's lead position 6-1.
 
Drury took the top five singles matches to finish with six points. Hadeler, the Panthers senior from Germany who has played in the team's lead single post all year, won 6-0, 6-2 over Kevin Nathan to end the regular season 10-3. Augustin Diot, Drury's number two in singles, won 6-1, 6-4 to finish the regular season 10-1 and 5-0 in the GLVC. The win was Diot's seventh in a row. Sylvain Garin-Michaud went to 4-0 in the GLVC in singles and 8-3 overall with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Brenden Everhart.
 
The Panthers will play again on Friday in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Tournament held in Romeoville, Illinois. The bracket and Drury's first round opponent will be announced later this weekend.
