BLUE SPRINGS, Mo.— Drury men's golfer
Walker Tynes tied for second and the Panthers finished tied for third as a team at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preview Tournament at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri, on Tuesday.
Tynes shot a four-over-par 76 in Tuesday's final round and shot an even-par 144 in the 36-hole tournament. The sophomore from Springfield-Catholic tied for second with Rockhurst's Jack Junge in the 112-player field. Both ended up five shots behind Luke Palmowski from Rogers State for medalist honors.
The Panthers shot 22-over-par in the tournament and tied for third with Winona State. Rogers State shot four-over as a team to win the 18-team event. Rockhurst, at 21-over-par, finished second.
Drury's
Hunter Jowers and
Chase Gafner both finished tied for 12
th, posting a five-over-par 149 for the tournament.
Cooper Hess shot a 75 on Tuesday and ended the tournament with a 12-over-par 156 to come in tied for 45
th.
Tony Brandt was 16-over and tied for 66
th.
Drury's third-place finish marks their best placement in a tournament this year. The Panthers return to action April 4-5 in the Mule Invitational hosted by Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
