INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Drury moved up from a three-way for 10
th to finish ninth at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship on Saturday at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Panthers shot 293 in Saturday's third and final round to finish with a 56-over-par, 920. Missouri-St. Louis ended stroke play in first place, shooting a six-under-par (858). The top four teams in 54 holes of stroke play advance to a four-team, match-play tournament on Sunday. Joining UMSL on Sunday will be Indianapolis, seeded second (+8, 872), third-seeded Southern Indiana (+16, 880), and number four seed McKendree (+19, 883).
All five Drury golfers broke 80 on Saturday.
Chase Gafner finished tied for 20
th after posting an even-par 72 in the third round to complete the tournament with an eight-over-par, 224.
Tony Brandt came in tied for 24
th at +9, 225.
Walker Tynes had Drury's best round of the tournament with a one-under-par 71 on Saturday and finished tied for 45
th at +18, 234.
Hunter Jowers tied for 55
th, shooting 24-over-par (240), and
Clayton Kaiser was 27-over (243) and finished 59
th.
Joel Sylven from Missouri-St. Louis won the individual league title and held off Oliver Mast from Indianapolis to win by one stroke. Sylven ended the tournament six-under-par to win the championship.
