SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury women's golf team finished 14
th at the Payne Stewart Memorial Tournament hosted by Missouri State at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield on Tuesday.
The Panthers entered Tuesday's final round tied for 14
th with Lindenwood but outshot the Lions by 13 strokes in the last 18 holes. Drury ended the 15-team tournament shooting a 96-over-par 960.
Missouri State and Oklahoma City University tied for first in the tournament as both squads ended play with a 15-over-par 879. Texas-El Paso was three shots back in third place.
Taryn Overstreet had the best round of the tournament for Drury, shooting four-over on Tuesday to finish with a 15-over-par 231. The junior from Jackson, Missouri, came in tied for 46
th in a field of 88 players.
Isabelle Thrall tied for 62
nd, shooting a 21-over 237, and
Carmen Fletcher shot a +26, 242 to finish tied for 72
nd.
Grace Stafford was 35-over-par and finished 83
rd, while
Abby Howard tied for 84
th with teammate
Ellie Holloway as both posted a +36, 252.
Jacie Pattengill, playing her second collegiate tournament, was 88th, shooting 268.
Drury was one of only two non-NCAA Division I programs in the tournament field.
Maddie Kamas from Oklahoma City University won the individual title shooting a one-under-par 215 in the tournament.
The Panthers move to their home course next week when they host the Drury Invitational at Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club in Bolivar on Sept. 19-20.
