SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury's Taryn Overstreet was named the Great Lakes Valley Player of the Week in women's golf for her performance at the Battle for the Belt tournament earlier this week.
 
Overstreet finished tied for 14^th in the 43-player field and finished the 54-hole tournament shooting a 15-over-par, 231. The senior from Jackson, Missouri, averaged a score of 77 per round and made 35 pars in the event. She opened with a 77 in Sunday's first round and followed with her best round of the tournament, a 76 during playing her second 18 holes on Sunday. Overstreet finished with a 78 in Monday's final round.
 
The award marks the second time in her career she has won the league's Player of the Week honor. She also won the GLVC award on March 31, 2022. It is the first time this season a Drury women's golfer has been named Player of the Week.
 
The Panthers compete again this weekend in the Davenport Panther Invitational at the Stonehenge North Golf Course in Grand Rapids, Mich.
