SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— 22^nd ranked Southwest Baptist edged Drury 4-3 on the final day of the regular season on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
 
Drury went to 9-5 and 2-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Bearcats improved to 15-8 and 4-0 in the GLVC.
 
Southwest Baptist took a 1-0 lead after doubles winning two of the three matches in that round. Drury's number one team of Sylvain Garin-Michaud and Marlon Wilken, ranked 27^th nationally, defeated 12^th ranked Markary Adamek and Marcio Silva, 6-3.
 
The two teams split the singles round and the Bearcats clinched the match with a win in the number four match that saw Alvaro Nunez defeat Tjade Bruns, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).
 
Garin-Michaud, ranked sixth nationally in singles, won his showdown against 20^th ranked Markary Adamek, 6-1, 6-2.
 
Marlon Wilken won his seventh straight and improved to 11-3 with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win over Marcio Silva. Mark Drozdetskii battled for three sets and rebounded from an opening set loss to defeat Mikar Fisher 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
 
The Panthers will advance to the GLVC Tournament as the number three seed out of the West Division. Drury opens the league tournament on Friday in Indianapolis, Indiana.
