KANSAS CITY, Mo.— Rockhurst edged Drury 4-3 at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday. 

The Panthers dropped to 9-4 and 2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Rockhurst went to 10-7 and 2-1 in the GLVC. 

The Hawks took a 1-0 lead, winning two of the three doubles matches. Drury got a win from Sylvain Garin-Michaud and Marlon Wilken in a 7-5 win over Louis Keiner and Josef Truhlar. Garin-Michaud/Wilken improved to 7-1 on the season, but the Panthers lost the number two and the number three matches to fall behind 1-0. 

The two teams split the six singles matches, with Drury winning the matches number one through three and Rockhurst taking four through six. The number one match-up featured two nationally ranked players and Drury's Sylvain Garin-Michaud, ranked 11th nationally, defeated 32nd ranked Louis Keiner, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Yarolslav Sharyy, ranked 38th in Division II, improved to 11-1 with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 win over Semyon Tsryenov. Marlon Wilken also picked up a win for the Panthers, taking down Victor Flores 6-4, 6-1.

Drury concludes their regular season next Saturday when they host Southwest Baptist for Senior Day at 11 am at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
