MUSKOGEE, Okla.— Drury finished 11
th out of 17 teams at the 25
th NSU Golf Classic hosted by Northeastern State at the Muskogee Golf Club in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Tuesday. Drury entered the final round on Tuesday in 12
th and moved up one spot, finishing with a 37-over-par 889 on the par-71, 6,726-yard course. The Panthers came in just one shot behind Southeastern Oklahoma State for 10
th and topped Southern Nazarene by one stroke. Host Northeastern State won the tournament posting a team score of one-under-par (851). Harding, at +1, was second, while Southern Arkansas was third at three-over-par.
Hunter Jowers led the Panthers and finished tied for 14
th in the 96-player field, shooting a three-over-par, 216. The junior from Jonesboro, Arkansas, posted an even-par 71 on Tuesday and moved up five spots on the leaderboard.
Clayton Kaiser also shot an even-par 71 on Tuesday and finished tied for 24
th finishing with a +6, 219.
Alex Wiseman tied for 49
th (+11, 224), and
Jack Day posted a +18, 231 to tie for 79
th.
Jeffery Johnson from Missouri Western State and Chandler Cooke from Arkansas-Fort Smith, tied for first shooting seven-under-par (206). Darkness prevented a playoff from being held as rain delayed the start of Tuesday's final round.
The Panthers return to action on Sept. 25-26 in the MSSU Fall Invitational, hosted by Missouri Southern State at the Shangri La Golf Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
