MONKEY ISLAND, Okla.— Drury posted a strong third round and moved up one spot on the team leaderboard while holding off several other teams for a 14
th place finish in a 20-team field at the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational at the Shrangi-La Golf Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Christian, ranked fourth nationally, won the tournament shooting 36-under-par in the 54-hole event. 23rd-ranked Henderson State finished second at 24-under-par, and Central Oklahoma came in second shooting 20-under-par.
Drury was led by
Clayton Kaiser, who finished tied for 46
th in the 108-player field, shooting a two-over-par 218. The senior from Monett, Missouri, shot a +1, 73 in the third and final round on Tuesday.
Hunter Jowers had Drury's best round of the tournament on Tuesday, posting a two-under-par 70 to finish tied for 58
th with a +5, 221.
Kal Kolar tied for 78
th, shooting a nine-over-par 225. Kolar shot an even-par 72 in the third round of Tuesday.
Alex Wiseman ended the tournament with a +10, 226 and tied for 81
st, while
Walker Tynes tied for 92
nd with a +14, 230.
Nick Canales from Central Oklahoma shot 18-under-par to win the tournament by five shots. Canales shot 62 in Tuesday's third round.
Drury returns to action on Oct. 2-3 in the Flyer Intercollegiate Invitational, hosted by Lewis, at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, Ill.
